Picacho Peak Picnic - January 6, 2006

The Sahuaro and OPMC Miata Clubs Met At Heritage Park In Florence Before The Drive To Picacho Pass State Park For A Joint Club Picnic.

That's A Lot Of Miatae -- 35 to be exact.

The OPMC joined the Sahuaro Miata Club for a picnic at Picacho Pass State Park on Saturday, January 6.  The nine-car OPMC contingent met up with the twenty six-car Sahuaro group at the Heritage Park in Florence and then after a half hour of greetings, visiting, and car ogling, the entire combined group of 35 Miatae drove uneventfully on to Picacho Peak.

The Sahuaro Club provided chili and cornbread, and various OPMC participants brought apple and cherry cobbler for dessert.  A number of people from each club brought firewood for the camp fire which was necessary to hold off hypothermia due to the blustery and chilly weather.  However, it was a lovely sunny day in a pretty setting so the large combined group had a good time eating and visiting.

Many thanks to the Sahuaro Miata Club for organizing and including OPMC in this fun event.
