Green Valley Country Fair White Elephant Parade October 25, 2008
Mike McGee will again setup this fun event for OPMC. Have you ever been in a parade? Well, OPMC
will again participate in a grand parade with members driving their
Miatas in the annual Green Valley Country Fair White Elephant Parade. The White Elephant is a volunteer-operated
Green Valley thrift store that resells donated items and provides
all profit proceeds to local charities and service organizations --
last year the White Elephant provided an amazing $1.2 million to
these organizations. The OPMC has again been honored by the
Parade organizers to carry the two Grand Marshals for the Parade --
this is great honor for our Club. Last year's parade had an estimated
10,000 viewers along the route in Green Valley.
Following the
parade, OPMC parade participants and those club members who just
came to watch the parade will get together for a grand lunch in Green Valley.
This year the lunch will be at the San Ignacio Golf Club where we
will dine at the Coyote Grill. We have a special room reserved
for our club with a spectacular view of the Santa Rita Mountains.
We will order individually from the menu and pay via separate
checks. We understand the Corvette Club meets here monthly, so
what more can you say about this fine dining spot. Mike is not
sure how many Miatas will be allowed in the parade this year, but
last year we had twenty OPMC member cars participate. If you
would like to represent the OPMC by driving your car in the October
2008 parade, please signup via the survey form below. This is
very fun event and we hope many of you will participate or at least
come for the great lunch.
